Entering with our Fast Falling Weight Deflectometer (Fast FWD)
What is BASt?
BASt is the Research institute in the department of the Federal Ministry of Transport.BASt’s mission is to improve the safety, environmental compatibility, economic efficiency, and performance of roads.
BAST understood the importance of comparative measurements carried out in other countries. Therefore BASt decided in 2015 to run a yearly Falling Weight Deflectometer comparative test on their premises, to create the basis for a permanent and recurring organization, for comparative measurements.
Dynatest will this year be participating in the BASt correlation trial with our Fast Falling Weight Deflectometer.
Good results in the BASt report 2023
Last year, according to the final BASt report, our Dynatest Fast Falling Weight Deflectometer (FWD03) achieved very good results. Especially in terms of repeatability, which is one of the most important values to verify.
Repeatability evaluates the different deflections achieved on exactly the same spot by following drop applications. If the values differ too much, it would be an indication of an uncertain measurement. Deflections are the base data for the pavement analysis that will be performed afterward, so it is crucial that these data are reliable!
Accurate test data
These are the test results from last year 2023 in terms of repeatability for one of the points tested.
The data from our Dynatest FastFWD (FWD03) can be seen as very repeatable, where the smaller the value the better.
The acceptance limit, represented by a value of 1.0, has been crossed by 3 other FWDs whose collected values are then considered very unreliable.
